Living in Rancho Park

Rancho Park lies south of Pico Boulevard, between Cheviot Hills, Palms and West Los Angeles, on residential streets developed from the 1920s onward. It shares its name with the Rancho Park Golf Course just over its northeastern line — a private club in the early 1920s that the city opened as a public course in 1947.

Pico and Westwood boulevards meet at its northern edge, where UCLA bought the former Westside Pavilion mall in 2024 for a planned research park. Since 2016, Metro’s E Line has crossed the neighborhood along the route of the old Pacific Electric Air Line, stopping at Westwood/Rancho Park and Expo/Sepulveda, and the Palms–Rancho Park branch library stands on Overland Avenue.
