Living in Beverly Grove / Beverly Center

Beverly Grove is City of Los Angeles land between the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills lines and La Brea Avenue, built up mostly in the 1920s. Its side streets hold Spanish Colonial Revival houses, duplexes and bungalow courts — the Edinburgh Bungalow Court became a city Historic-Cultural Monument in 2016 — and on the Fairfax side, between Beverly Boulevard and Third Street, one-story Period Revival houses, mostly built from 1924 to 1941, form a city preservation zone.

The Beverly Center, opened in 1982 on the site of a small amusement park, anchors the western end beside the Cedars-Sinai campus, and West Third Street runs east with boutiques and restaurants. At Third and Fairfax, the Original Farmers Market began in July 1934 with farmers selling produce from their trucks; The Grove opened beside it in 2002, and CBS Television City, from 1952, and Pan Pacific Park stand a short walk north on Beverly Boulevard.
